Ukrainian sanctions concern Russian key airlines, banks, defense cos
MOSCOW, Sep 17 (PRIME) -- The list of Russian companies concerned by the recent Ukrainian sanctions includes 25 airlines with top air carrier Aeroflot, 28 banks with Gazprombank, the third biggest lender, several defense firms and software producers, according to documents released late Wednesday.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko signed a decree to introduce sanctions for one year against Russia. The black list comprises about 400 individuals and 105 companies.
The airline list also includes three Aeroflot’s affiliates Donavia, Orenburg Airlines and Rossiya Airlines; and other large air carriers: Transaero, Siberia Airlines, operating under the S7 brand, Globus, Urals Airlines, VIM-Avia, Red Wings, Kogalymavia and Gazpromavia. The list also includes four private jet airlines and an air squadron providing services to Russia’s leaders.
The largest two Russian banks, Sberbank and VTB were unaffected by the sanctions, as well as state Vnesheconombank, while large Bank of Moscow and Russian Agricultural Bank are in the list. SMP-Bank controlled by brothers Arkady and Boris Rotenberg and Bank Rossiya earlier targeted by Western sanctions were also included, as well as Crimea’s Russian National Commercial Bank (RNCB).
Air defense system producer Almaz-Antey and Russian Helicopters were among the defense firms.
Freight One, a railway operator was also put in the list.
Kaspersky Lab and Dr. Web were among the software producers.
